Dimensional Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the automotive and vehicle development industry, is seeking a Dimensional Engineer to join their team. As a Dimensional Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the Vehicle Development team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Dimensional Engineer

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $88/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Define and establish datum schemes, tolerances, and requirements for chassis commodities.
• Serve as the Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) lead for feasibility assessments.
• Oversee the drawing-check process for designated vehicle commodities.
• Define and implement measurement strategies to ensure quality standards.
• Approve fixtures in accordance with project requirements to support manufacturing and assembly processes.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 6 years experience in dimensional management within the automotive or related industry.
• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in performing 1D/3D stack-up analyses to evaluate design feasibility.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T principles, with proven ability to create and validate technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of measurement systems, statistical concepts, and process control.
