JMC Concrete Cutting is seeking an experienced Demolition Foreman to provide on-site leadership for demolition projects. This role is responsible for supervising crews, coordinating daily operations, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring each project is executed efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
The Demolition Foreman serves as the on-site authority, directing demolition activities, managing personnel, and acting as the liaison between field operations and management. This position ensures work is completed on schedule, within scope, and in alignment with company policies and operational expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Supervise daily demolition activities to ensure scope, schedule, and quality standards are met.
- Assign tasks, manage workflow, and coordinate manpower for optimal efficiency.
- Review plans and specifications and clearly communicate expectations to crews.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company safety policies and site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct daily pre-task safety meetings and ensure proper PPE use and hazard awareness.
- Identify unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective action.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Crew Management & Accountability
- Oversee field personnel performance, timekeeping, and professional conduct.
- Provide coaching, corrective instruction, and documentation in coordination with management.
- Equipment & Site Control
- Ensure proper operation, inspection, and care of equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Monitor site access, barricades, debris handling, dust control, and material management.
Equipment & Site Mobilization
- Coordinate and oversee the mobilization and demobilization of trailers, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Maintain general working knowledge of transporting, staging, and positioning heavy equipment in accordance with site plans and safety requirements.
- Ensure equipment is properly secured, inspected, and staged prior to operations.
- Verify access routes, clearances, and site conditions to support safe and efficient equipment movement.
- Communicate with management, drivers, and field personnel to ensure timely and compliant deployment of resources.
Communication & Reporting
- Act as the primary on-site contact with management, clients, and subcontractors.
- Submit daily progress updates and promptly report incidents, near-misses, or concerns.
PM20
- Demonstrated experience in demolition, construction, or related field leadership.
- Strong working knowledge of demolition methods, equipment, and site safety practices.
- Ability to read plans, follow schedules, and enforce operational procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Prior foreman or supervisory experience.
- Equipment operation certifications and formal safety training.
- Experience managing complex or multi-crew demolition projects.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in active demolition and construction environments.
- Regular standing, walking, climbing, lifting, bending, and equipment operation.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
