Cost Estimator:
Pay: $70,000 - 75,000
Experience: 1-2 years of Costing experience (preferably in machining or manufacturing)
The Cost Estimator will gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for a current or proposed product.
- Participate in manufacturing feasibility studies with team of new product concepts and initial designs.
- Determines labor, equipment, materials, outside processing, component purchasing costs for the RFQ's. Drafts costs estimate for projects based on data analysis and research.
- Completes assigned RFQ's, reviews with Manager for approval.
- Submits approved quotes via portal or internal format within deadline.
- Properly stores and maintains documentation in conjunction with company process (BOS).
- Estimate tool build, PPAP, material, new equipment and supply chain lead times as applicable.
- Reviews and analyses existing processes, staff, materials during Engineering Change Request processes.
- Participate in customer cost reduction surveys as needed.
- Reviews and analyses existing processes and identifies cost reduction opportunities.
- Estimates costs of new equipment capital investment necessary for production.
- Complete expedited "rapid response" RFQ's as assigned.
- Assist Accounting department post purchase order to review PO vs Quote for accuracy on quoted costs.
- Interact with Program Management and Engineering on engineering change requests for costing changes.
- Interact with and maintain excellent customer relationships as assigned.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives including process changes and software implementation.
- Support and comply with all company/safety standards and standard operating procedures.
