Controller

Summary/Objective

The Controller is a key member of the Management team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This individual will be in a strategic role in the overall financial management of the company. The Controller will have day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct and indirect responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, investor relationships and institutional financing.

The ideal candidate will be emotionally intelligent leader that can both work with experienced CFO and lead a small, but strong team of accounting/finance teammates to optimize financial success of a rapidly growing PE backed company.

Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives.
  • Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization.
  • Ability to and experience with utilising NetSuite ERP and FP&A Module to work smarter, not harder.
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and merger and acquisition activity.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and collaborate to seek a full range of business solutions.
  • Manage and direct processes for financial forecasting, budgets and financial reporting to the company.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Be primary contact with our external auditors and maintain a strong relationship with them.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to our PE partner's data requests
  • Monitor all banking activities and relationships.
  • Motivate, manage and develop a strong team of finance and accounting professionals.
  • Manage and coach the Accounting/Finance team by establishing comprehensive goals for the team according to the needs of the business.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area required (Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or Business).
  • 5-7 years experienced leader within the accounting field required.
  • Candidate must be a CPA.
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget required.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role. This role requires the individual to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. This role requires the individual to make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers often. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The "core" business hours for the organization are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but this role could occasionally be working early in the morning to the late hours of the evening to manage Pipe View, LLC businesses locally and nationally. This role will need to be available at any time for the executive leadership team to resolve any business issues that may arise.


Travel

This role requires some light travel between offices, as needed.
