Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead critical manufacturing improvement initiatives and support the successful launch of new products. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, implementing process improvements, and ensuring smooth transition from product development into full-scale production. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of delivering measurable improvements on the shop floor-not just academic knowledge. This position also has potential to grow into a leadership role as the continuous improvement function expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing continuous improvement projects that increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and lower cost.
- Own the final stages of New Product Development (NPD), ensuring designs are production-ready, processes are validated, and launches are executed with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate closely with product development, engineering, and operations teams to bridge design and manufacturing requirements.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement sustainable technical solutions.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis to deliver measurable results.
- Develop and document standard work, training materials, and control plans to sustain improvements.
- Serve as a hands-on technical expert, capable of troubleshooting equipment, processes, and quality challenges on the floor.
- Track KPIs, report impact of improvement initiatives, and communicate progress to leadership.
- Mentor peers and operators on continuous improvement tools and practices, building CI capability across the organization.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated history of successfully implementing CI initiatives with measurable impact (examples required).
- Strong technical skills in Lean Manufacturing, process validation, process mapping, and advanced problem-solving.
- Hands-on experience working with manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple high-impact projects, and deliver results under deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, data analysis, and manufacturing metrics.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline (advanced degree or certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt preferred).
- 5+ years of proven experience driving manufacturing process improvements and new product industrialization.
