Construction Superintendent

Job Description Job Description

Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Senior / Highly Experienced

About the Role

We aren't looking for an office manager who happens to wear a hard hat once a week. We are looking for a true construction professional-someone who knows the trades inside and out, commands respect on the job site, and genuinely loves the challenge of bringing a blueprint to life.

As our Construction Superintendent, you will be the absolute authority on-site. You will own the schedule, drive production, enforce safety, and solve the complex, real-time problems that only someone with years of hands-on dirt and concrete experience can anticipate. If you live for the smell of a fresh pour, the hustle of a busy site, and the satisfaction of a job done right, you're the person we want leading our crew.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead from the Front: Run the day-to-day operations of the construction site. You are the ultimate point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors.
  • Master the Schedule: Look ahead, anticipate bottlenecks, and coordinate trades seamlessly so no one is standing around waiting on another crew.
  • Uphold the Standard: Quality control is on you. You know what "right" looks like, and you won't accept anything less from subcontractors.
  • Enforce Safety Habitually: Maintain a zero-tolerance culture for unsafe practices. Everyone goes home whole at the end of the day.
  • Solve Problems in Real-Time: When a detail on the prints doesn't match reality, you don't stall. You use your deep field knowledge to find a practical, structural solution immediately.

Who You Are (Qualifications & Skills)

We are looking for deep, undeniable expertise. To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Extensive Field Experience: A minimum of X years of direct, on-site construction experience (commercial/residential/industrial, depending on your focus), with at least X years specifically in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Encyclopedic Construction Knowledge: You must thoroughly understand structural components, building codes, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, and the sequential flow of trades. You can read architectural and structural blueprints better than most people read the morning news.
  • A True Passion for the Craft: You love construction. You take pride in looking at a finished structure and saying, "I built that." You respect the trades because you've either been in them or have worked alongside them for decades.
  • Commanding Leadership: You know how to talk to subs, motivate a crew, and hold people accountable without losing your cool. You communicate clearly, firmly, and fairly.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is highly preferred (or a willingness to obtain it immediately). First Aid/CPR certification is a major plus.

What We Offer

  • Performance-based project bonuses
  • Pay will be based on experience
  • Company truck / vehicle allowance & fuel card
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
