About the Opportunity

PPG Staffing is partnering with one of the nation's top-ranked general contractors on a major data center expansion and upgrade project in Chandler, Arizona. This is an immediate need for an experienced Area Superintendent to join a high-profile mission-critical construction team on a long-term assignment expected to last more than a year.

This position will support the upgrade and expansion of an existing operational data center facility and requires a hands-on field leader capable of overseeing multiple trades and complex construction activities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of all construction disciplines, with particular strength in electrical systems and mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

??? Provide day-to-day field leadership for assigned areas of the project.

??? Coordinate and supervise all construction activities across multiple trades and subcontractors.

??? Oversee field operations involving 150+ craft personnel and subcontractors working simultaneously across multiple scopes.

??? Lead schedule execution, work sequencing, site logistics, and trade coordination efforts.

??? Maintain strict adherence to project safety requirements, quality standards, and project specifications.

??? Coordinate closely with Project Managers, General Superintendents, Field Engineers, and fellow Superintendents to ensure successful project delivery.

??? Identify and resolve field issues, constructability challenges, and schedule conflicts before they impact production.

??? Manage manpower planning, material delivery coordination, equipment utilization, and productivity tracking.

??? Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and subcontractor coordination meetings.

??? Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and project documents to ensure field execution aligns with project requirements.

??? Maintain accountability for schedule performance, quality workmanship, and safety compliance within assigned project areas.

Required Qualifications

??? 5+ years of Superintendent or Area Superintendent experience on large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or advanced technology construction projects.

??? Experience working for a large General Contractor overseeing multiple subcontractors and trades.

??? Strong understanding of all construction scopes including electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, architectural, and specialty systems.

??? Demonstrated ability to lead large field teams and coordinate complex construction activities.

??? Experience managing projects with large craft populations and multiple concurrent work fronts.

??? Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.

??? Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

??? Data Center construction experience strongly preferred.

??? Experience with mission-critical facilities, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, clean rooms, pharmaceutical facilities, advanced manufacturing, power generation, or other highly technical industrial construction projects.

??? Strong electrical background, including experience with power distribution systems, switchgear, substations, generators, UPS systems, critical infrastructure, or large-scale electrical installations.

??? Experience working in active operating facilities, renovation projects, or facility upgrades while maintaining ongoing operations.

??? Previous experience overseeing 150+ craft workers and coordinating large subcontractor teams.
