Community Partnership Manager-Austin, TX

Housing Connector is a flexible hybrid workplace. This role is primarily remote, with regular in-person meetings with partners and potential partners throughout the Austin Metro area. In addition, the team gathers in person once a week for collaboration. As the local team grows, in-office responsibilities may increase.

Position Summary:

The Community Partnerships Manager position provides the opportunity to play an important role in increasing housing security for people across the Austin Metro area. This position will work with social service agencies and local government to increase access to housing opportunities for people experiencing housing instability and homelessness. This role will drive strategies to engage with local partners and lead public and non-profit relationships in the Austin Metro area.


The ideal candidate has a background in program management for complex environments and will systematically build structures that deliver results at scale. Building and maintaining great relationships across the nonprofit, private, and public sectors is critical.? The ideal candidate has a bias for action, is comfortable launching new program features quickly, and has demonstrated experience in continuously improving programs.

Critical Job Functions:

  • Develop and deliver scalable strategies to increase household move-in rates and the rate at which nonprofits use Housing Connector inventory.
  • Lead Austin Metro community partner recruitment, onboarding, retention, and technical assistance.
  • Engage with the nonprofit community across Austin Metro area to drive adoption and use of Housing Connector through trainings, communication, and user groups.
  • Strengthen local communication channels and content to nonprofits with ongoing information about the value of Housing Connector.
  • Engage with key partners in private, public, and nonprofit sectors to coordinate strategies designed to lessen the barriers when accessing housing.
  • Manage the distribution of flex funds to help local nonprofits resolve housing issues for their clients including past debts, arrears, or impending evictions
  • Continuously seek opportunities to remove friction and improve the customer experience of both nonprofits and housing providers as they use Housing Connector.
  • Working across the organization, develop policies and streamline processes to increase customer satisfaction.



Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate loves to build relationships, is extremely organized, and has experience managing projects with complex stakeholder networks. You will utilize your attention to detail, your experience in program management, and your excellent communication skills to ensure high quality results.

  • 3-5 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, with experience in community engagement and/or social impact initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience facilitating trainings and engaging diverse audiences.
  • Experience improving operational processes and delivering a customer-centric experience.
  • Data-driven approach to measuring outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Adaptable and proactive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments, with a bias for action and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge or understanding of the local nonprofit community, homelessness service providers, and/or innovative solutions in housing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills, with a track record of solving ambiguous problems and delivering results.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in affordable housing, homelessness services, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of the Austin Metro community and local nonprofit landscape.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
