About the Position:

The Commercial Loan Processor supports the bank's commercial lending operations by processing, reviewing, and coordinating commercial loan applications from inception through closing. This role ensures that all loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable banking regulations. Depending on experience and level, this position may focus on administrative processing, resolving complex loan issues, and/or mentoring junior processors. The Commercial Loan Processor plays a key role in supporting loan officers, underwriters, and credit staff to ensure a smooth, efficient, and customer-focused lending experience.


Essential Duties:

  • Gathers required financial, business, and collateral documentation from borrowers and third parties.
  • Reviews loan applications and supporting materials for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates with loan officers, underwriters, and credit staff to ensure timely processing and closing of commercial loans.
  • Orders and tracks third-party reports such as credit reports, appraisals, title work, lien searches, environmental assessments, and UCC filings.
  • Prepares borrower correspondence, including commitment letters, needs lists, and credit denial notifications.
  • Maintains organized and compliant digital loan files by properly naming, scanning, and indexing documents.
  • Ensures that all loan closing conditions are met and documentation is complete prior to funding.
  • Verifies borrower insurance coverage and compliance with loan and collateral requirements.
  • Coordinates payoffs, escrow openings, and title work with external partners to facilitate smooth closings.
  • Monitors loan pipelines and deadlines to support timely approvals and closings.
  • Identifies and reports discrepancies, risks, or compliance issues promptly.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to inquiries from internal staff, customers, and third parties.
  • Provides regular updates to borrowers and loan officers regarding loan status, outstanding items, and closing requirements.
  • Troubleshoots complex loan processing issues and resolves discrepancies that arise during review or closing.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor to junior processors, training team members on procedures, compliance standards, and system use.
  • Supports cross-departmental collaboration to promote effective communication and workflow.

  • Completes administrative tasks with a sense of urgency, including required Bank Compliance Training. Responds to internal and external inquiries via email, phone, or messaging platforms in a timely and professional manner.   • Ensures adherence to all Bank policies, procedures, and processes, along with applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, ensuring confidentiality and data privacy while carrying out AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism) responsibilities specific to the role.
  • Performs duties in an office or home office environment, involving tasks such as writing, typing, speaking, lifting moderate weights, and operating office equipment. The position requires physical activities like sitting, walking, and reaching. Reasonable accommodation can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Travels up to 10%, including but not limited to attending company meetings, training sessions, and corporate events, with travel typically being regional or local based on business needs.


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, or related) preferred. Advanced degree or relevant certifications strongly preferred for senior-level roles.
  • Minimum 2-6 years of related commercial loan processing or a related role experience preferred.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of interpreting complex data and providing meaningful insights.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of commercial loan documentation, underwriting, and closing procedures.
  • Experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.
  • Experience with CSI Nupoint, nCino, Sageworks preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers, vendors and employees.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship skills to lead collaborative efforts, foster alignment, and drive results across teams.
  • Ability to take initiative and impact change within the Bank through consensus building and conflict resolution.
  • Willingness to take on special projects and perform other duties as assigned, beyond core responsibilities, to support team and organizational needs.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain authenticity and integrity in all professional interactions, ensuring trust and credibility with stakeholders.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and procedures.
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.


Compensation details: 22-45 Hourly Wage
