Commercial/Industrial Construction Project Manager

The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of projects, from estimating to closeout with the direction of the Senior Project Manager. This includes initial estimation of a project, the buying-out of commitments, preparation of master schedules, monitoring of project budget, close-out and more. Project Managers also assist the Superintendent team with job site needs. A strong understanding of design-build process and the commercial and industrial construction industry is required. Candidate should also be able to seek out, build, and maintain vendor relationships.

The company is focused on developing next-gen construction processes, and invests in the latest construction software. Candidate must be able to help the team further develop the use of programs such as Procore, Bluebeam, etc.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in estimating and bidding projects
  • Participate in design process
  • Assist in preparation and updates of Master and look-ahead schedules
  • Identify, understand and actively manage project risks
  • Conduct meetings
  • Monitor project costs and job cost reports
  • Identify problems and recommend solutions for review and implementation
  • Focus on maintaining client satisfaction
  • Document punch lists and participate in project close out
  • Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Understands the project plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership characteristics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Design-Build: Strong understanding of construction design and implementation in order to lead the design process; ability to identify potential conflicts in design and suggest alternatives
  • Construction Financials: Ability to develop and oversee project forecasting, cashflows, and WIPs
  • Contract Management: Knowledge of construction contracts; ability to review and negotiate contractual terms with external parties
  • Process Improvement and Development: Ability to identify weak or potentially problematic processes and develop improvements
  • Leadership and Talent Management: Ability to manage, educate, and motivate project teams
  • Technology: Knowledge and understanding of construction software use; ability to identify opportunites to advance technology use within the company and field
  • Safety: Understanding of the most stringent industry safety requirements and a commitment to upholding and developing safety culture and practices
  • Culture: Ability to work with a wide range of personalities, and promote a collaborative, supportive environment both internally and externally; dedication to upholding the company reputation through ethical and professional behavior
  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH GROUND-UP DESIGN-BUILD PROJECTS ON THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SIDE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction
  • Experience with Procore is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work with geographically-dispersed team
  • Some travel required
  • Fully remote
  • Procore experience preferred.
