Position overview: As a Superintendent at PJF Corp, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our team, where you will not only oversee the execution of projects but also influence the direction and success of our company. As the primary on-site representative, you will maintain rigorous adherence to project plans and specifications, implement risk management strategies, and foster a collaborative and safe working environment. By being the first on-site each day, you will ensure that projects are completed on time and uphold our quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, coordinate, communicate, and execute the project schedule.
  • Provide on-site leadership for all project personnel (subcontractors, labor support, material suppliers, etc.).
  • Represent PJF in on-site meetings with project personnel ensuring clear and effective communication
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to proactively address and minimize potential risks.
  • Read, interpret, and enforce the project's plans and specifications to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Own every detail of the project plans and maintain a thorough understanding of upcoming tasks and deadlines.
  • Maintain a punch list of necessary task corrections and ensure timely resolution to meet project standards.
  • Provide regular reports detailing work accomplished, personnel on site, incidents, inspections, equipment use, etc.
  • Ensure quality assurance by conducting regular site inspections and upholding high standards throughout the project.
  • Maintain site cleanliness by enforcing protocols and adhering to regular cleanup schedules for a safe and organized work environment.
  • Establish and maintain all safety standards and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Arrive on-site first each day to ensure all preparations are complete and to set the tone for a productive workday.
  • Deliver showroom quality work consistently, ensuring that all projects meet or exceed expectations and deadlines.

    Requirements

    Core Requirements:

    Technical Requirements:

    • Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, techniques, building codes (local, state and federal).
    • Familiarity with commercial construction rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
    • Familiarity with industry documentation and communication practices (RFIs, Change Orders, drawings, specs, submittals).
    • Advanced technological skills (smartphones, laptops, tablets used in the daily management of projects).
    • Proficiency in Office 365 products (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project), Procore project manager, and Phoenix CMP
    • Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle abstract variables.

    Education/Experience

    • High School diploma or GED (Required)
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent experience
    • Commercial Construction Experience: 7 years
    • Superintendent Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
    • Experience in ground-up construction (including site work, steel erection, ACM panel installation) with a variety of structure builds (including CMU, Tilt, Steel, Wood).
    • Experience managing projects involving civil and/or structural requirements (preferred)

    License/Certification

    • Valid Drivers License (Required)
    • Procore certified (or a commitment to be certified within 30 days of hire)
    • OSHA-30 Certified (or a commitment to be certified within 30 days of hire)

    Work Environment: The work environment will include exposure to ongoing construction and various weather conditions during site visits including rain, sleet, snow, wind, and heat. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.



    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need the ability to stand and walk for long periods on-site, navigating uneven surfaces. They must frequently climb stairs and ladders, use their hands to handle tools and controls, and occasionally lift and carry materials up to 80 pounds. May be required to sit for extended periods during office work. The role requires specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus) and good hearing for effective communication in noisy environments. Candidates must tolerate various weather conditions during site inspections and be physically capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are also essential for managing project tasks efficiently.
