The Class A CDL Local Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial vehicles to transport general freight primarily on short, medium, and long daily routes. This role requires strong navigation skills, adherence to safety regulations, and diligent vehicle maintenance to ensure reliable delivery within scheduled timeframes.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely following all traffic and safety regulations
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently, including short (under 50 miles), medium (50-150 miles), and long (over 150 miles) daily routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness
- Maintain accurate driving logs and other documentation
- Manage delivery schedules to meet time management standards
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies and federal safety guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A CDL License
- 1+ years of commercial driving experience
