Chiller Technician/Operator

Our client, a leader in commercial building management, is seeking a Chiller Technician/Operator to join their team. As a Chiller Technician/Operator, you will be part of the Facilities Maintenance Department supporting the engineering and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title:Chiller Technician/Operator
Location:Charleston, SC
Shift: Mon thru Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 PM
Pay: $30/hr - $34/hr

What's the Job?

  • Supervise contractors and oversee maintenance operations for HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life safety systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and respond to service requests to ensure optimal building performance
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and after-hours site issues
  • Conduct facility inspections and prepare technical reports with recommendations for improvements
  • Mentor junior staff and support preventive maintenance programs to enhance team skills and system reliability

What's Needed?

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in HVAC or chiller systems
  • 2+ years of people management experience in maintenance or engineering roles
  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification
  • Journeyman Refrigeration Technician's License or Refrigeration Technicians License
