  • Position Summary
    The Cartage & Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily transportation activities to ensure shipments are picked up, delivered, and billed accurately and on time. This role coordinates pickups, deliveries, billing, and accessorial charges while serving as a key communication pint between drivers, customers, and internal teams. In addition, this position support warehouse and driver operations during peak volume or staffing shortages, including assisting with loading/unloading and operation company vehicles as needed.

    Key Responsibilities
    Operations Coordination
  • Coordinate daily recovery work from linehaul and airlines.
  • Prepare and distribute delivery receipts and driver manifests.
  • Schedule customer-requested pickup appointments.
  • Monitor and update shipment statuses (OH, OFD, POD, etc.) and communicate delays or issues promptly.
  • Resolve service issues, including rescheduling deliveries when needed.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to customers to ensure high service levels.
  • Billing & Documentation
  • Manage accessorial charges by notifying customers, obtaining approvals, and ensuring accurate billing.
  • Process billing by rating jobs, confirming charges, and verifying accuracy.
  • Collect and review all driver documentation, including pre- and post-trip reports.
  • Equipment & Fuel Oversight
  • Work with the leasing company to address equipment breakdowns and schedule maintenance.
  • Monitor fuel needs, usage, and receipt tracking.
  • Driver Responsibilities (as needed)
  • Deliver products from the warehouse to customers safely and on time.
  • Stack, palletize, move, and organize products as needed.
  • Verify products against delivery and pickup receipts.
  • Operate company-owned and leased trucks for shipping, receiving, pickup, and delivery activities.
  • Maintain company property in excellent condition; comply with traffic laws and all transportation safety procedures.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Report delays, accidents, mechanical problems, or other transportation issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; business-related education preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in cartage, transportation, or logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Greater Seattle Area geography.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP/TM or similar TMS preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Team-oriented with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to pass a TSA background check and DOT Medical Physical.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • 21+ years of age.
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts.
  • Work Schedule & Environment
  • Full-time role, 8 hours per day with required meal and rest breaks.
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance required.
  • Climate controlled office environment with moderate noise level; must be able to work in a warehouse environment as needed.
  • Physical & Other Requirements
  • Ability to sit, walk, talk, hear, and use hands for computer work.
  • Ability to assist with vehicle loading and unloading; lift/push/pull up to 60lbs as needed.
  • Ability to climb into and operate a box truck during peak volume or driver absences.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, reports, and instructions; write clear correspondence; and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.

    Salary Range: $28.00 - $32.00 Hourly Range

    Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
