Carpenter - Residential Remodel Construction - Stratham, NH

The Carpenter position is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work on residential construction projects ranging in size and scope, from small bath remodels to the construction of custom new homes. Your main goals are to support projects within the set budget and help develop positive relationships with the client with the end result being a profitable project and a happy customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job functions:

Job Set-Up

o Review specifications and drawings communicating errors and omissions to the Production Manager.

o Assist with pre-construction walk-through meetings as needed (see pre-construction meeting procedure).

o Help prepare and organize materials and tools for project start-up.

o Adhere to project plans and maintaining job cost efficiency and staying within budget.

Job Support

o Perform assigned carpentry tasks according to project plans, schedules, and company standards.

o Maintain jobsite cleanliness at all times.

o Maintain jobsite safety and security of homeowner's belongings.

o Adhere toall job production procedures, maintaining the company standards for excellent quality workmanship.

o Report job-related issues or concerns (e.g., structural, procedural, or material-related) to the Lead Carpenter or Project Manager.

o Assist with inspections and follow directions on municipal procedures.

o Support the completion of punch list items and final project tasks.

o Assist with completion of change orders as needed (see change order procedure).

o Work collaboratively with team members and follow directions to ensure adherence to company standards, specifications, and proper time tracking.

  • Keep up to date on industry trends and developments.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in meetings as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

Framing (walls, floors, roofs)

Interior trim carpentry (baseboards, crown molding, casing)

Cabinet installation and modification

Door and window installation

Drywall hanging, patching, and finishing

Flooring installation (hardwood, LVP, tile prep)

Deck and porch construction/repair

Stair construction and railing installation

Structural repairs and modifications

Blueprint and layout interpretation (advanced level)

Use of laser levels, layout tools, and precision measuring

Demolition with structural awareness

Exterior carpentry (siding, soffit, fascia)

Punch-out/detail finishing work

Basic plumbing and electrical rough-in coordination (trade awareness)

Qualifications

Have 5 years of carpenter experience.

Be well organized and motivated.

Proficient speaking, writing, and communicating in the English language.

Competent mathematical skills.

Working knowledge of computers including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Working knowledge of construction software (we use JobTread).

Familiar with construction project tracking software and a willingness to learn with a goal of proficiency for all projects.
