Job Summary:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all hotel equipment, building systems, and property facilities. This leadership role ensures compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and environmental practices, while providing exceptional service to guests and supporting the hotel's operational goals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Work in environments subject to temperature extremes, noise, and confined spaces.
Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in hotel engineering or facility management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Certification or licensing as required by local law (e.g., boiler operator license, HVAC certification).
Experience with building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to respond to emergencies 24/7 and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).
