POSITION SUMMARY To maintain ongoing responsibility for all daily branch operations while actively developing existing and new customer relationships. To play a key role in developing branch action plans in order to ensure continued branch growth. This position carries diversified responsibilities in the administration of all banking offices and functions within the assigned city. Responsibilities include planning and implementation of business development programs, profitable and operational efficiency of resources, participation in staff selection and development, participation in civic, business, and community activities to the extent that it promotes the image, goodwill, development and general future opportunities of the Bank. Supervises Branch personnel, develops opportunities for expanding branch footprint, product development, customer relations, examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for consumer loans by performing the essential functions listed below.
- Meets or exceeds branch goals for deposit volume, new accounts and referrals as assigned by bank leadership. Assigns overall branch goals to branch team members each month.
- Cultivates business relationships with new customers; deepens relationships with existing customers by recommending additional products and services to include new loans and treasury management solutions.
- Professionally handles complex customer transactions or customer service issues with sound judgment and decision-making.
- Utilizes leadership and management sales skills to promote sales culture and accountability by setting a high standard of sales and service. Effectively and consistently coaches and trains individual team members.
- Coordinates the banking systems to ensure maximum efficiency and utility. Manages the Branch's ATM balancing and financial functions.
- Reviews and directs internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting system.
- Monitors the Bank's cash management function in such a way as to maximize return on funds invested while maintaining adequate liquidity.
- Assures operating systems are established to provide efficient customer service assistance at minimum expense.
- Participates in long-range strategic planning, research and analysis.
- Has responsibility for staffing, motivation and performance management.
- Participates in community and professional banking activities to position the Bank as a community and financial services leader.
- Promotes an environment conducive to high morale and dedication of the staff to both the Bank and its customers.
- Maintains knowledge of the Bank's non-operational systems to determine functionality of systems, validity of data, appropriate uses and restrictions.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge: An Associates degree or equivalent in business or a related field is required. Proven success in business development/sales and prior bank supervisory experience is required. An extensive understanding of the daily branch operations and exceptional customer service skills are essential. Previous personal banking, head teller experience, and knowledge of consumer lending is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five years of banking experience at the level of Customer Service Representative and Head Teller, or in a 'back office' function at a similar level is required. Previous branch management experience and three or more years of prior supervisory experience preferred.
