BMS Controls Technician


Description:

This is a full-time, direct placement role at AME, Inc.

  • The Building Automation Controls Technician is responsible for completing service calls while maintaining positive client relations
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS systems
  • Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct supervision
  • Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved
  • Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are developed
  • Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems
  • Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional work
  • Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of BAS systems
  • Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems, and Lighting
  • Stay informed of industry developments for energy savings strategies
  • Effectively provide feedback to supervisor for ways to improve the installation process
  • Assume additional responsibilities as needed and approved by management
Requirements:
  • Field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, & software integration
  • Knowledge of Niagara commissioning tools and field circuit debugging skills
  • Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Niagara, various operating systems
  • Proven track record of completing projects, being self-motivated and achieving customer satisfaction
  • Deploy, revise, checkout, and commission building automation, DDC, energy management and controls systems hardware, software and graphics
  • This position will require the successful candidate to obtain/show proof of a complete COVID-19 vaccination


Compensation details: 40-60 Hourly Wage
