ARC is looking for a Associate General Counsel to join our team! This role will p rovide sophisticated legal counsel across a wide array of operational, transactional, and regulatory matters. You will review, negotiate, and advise ARC in all aspects of the law with a primary focus in the following key areas: financial risk, distressed asset management, general commercial contracting, manage outside counsel, oversee litigation and other governmental inquiries and investigations, and counterparty insolvency . Additionally, you will offer comprehensive legal guidance to department staff and executives, ensure alignment with laws, regulations, contracts, and binding agreements. This role will identify, analyze, and address legal issues, draft essential documents, and present detailed recommendations to ensure legal compliance across ARC's business.
Responsibilities- Work closely with the Special Asset Manager and all leadership in various teams throughout the organization to provide legal advice regarding strategy and implementation of successful risk mitigation tactics.
- Counsel internal stakeholders on legal risk and regulatory obligations related to ARC's distressed assets, financial settlement systems, data platforms, and technology offerings.
- Draft, negotiate and review complex commercial contracts and legal documents.
- Oversee outside counsel relationships, ensuring cost-effective, strategic, and compliant litigation and transactional support.
- Serve as legal advisor to ARC as well as airlines, travel agencies, and other customers, partners and affiliates of ARC as it relates to contract law, financial instruments, restructuring, bankruptcy, and litigation matters.
- Collaborate with business, risk, and finance units to design and implement legal playbooks, compliance protocols, and business continuity strategies.
- Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting the travel, technology, and financial services industries.
Qualifications- Juris doctorate (JD) degree
- 12 years of combined experience with a financial services company and/or top law firm.
- Proven expertise in distressed asset strategies, litigation management, and bankruptcy and insolvency law.
- Experience advising complex commercial transactions and enterprise-level legal matters.
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance and to build consensus across departments.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
- Team player able to work collaboratively with ARC's current legal team, as well as various other teams throughout the organization.
- Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence, an exceptional work ethic, and the poise, presence, and integrity to earn the trust and confidence of colleagues and ARC's partners and customers.
- Successful self-starter extremely proactive and energetic, with the desire to hit the ground running each day and the ability to independently own matters.
- Results oriented excited about the role and being a key contributor to the team; enjoys working hard, putting in the requisite hours and has the focus to get things done.
