About the role
We're hiring a hands-on, organized, and driven Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator to help manage construction projects from bid to close-out. This hybrid role offers a mix of administrative work and field time, with opportunities to grow within the company.
Full-time Hybrid (Office + Field) This hybrid role includes a mix of on-site field office and remote/office-based coordination to oversee and report on field operations.
What you'll do
An Assistant PM in our company will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Assist with bidding, startup tasks, subcontractor coordination, and project close-out
- Maintain RFIs, submittals, punch lists, photos, and project records
- Update construction schedules in coordination with field personnel and the project PM
- Oversee material and equipment delivery
- Perform on-site reports covering personnel, equipment, materials, and daily activity
- Help prepare and organize job site and office files, logs, and compliance documentation
- Type correspondence, meeting minutes, and prepare project documentation
- Obtain quotes for materials and subcontractor work
- Maintain shop and site supply inventories
- Assist estimators and field teams as needed
- Support special projects and maintain a clean, professional job site
- Travel to project sites as needed
Qualifications
Definite Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in the construction industry
- High school diploma or GED
- Understanding of the construction contract process (bid, startup, tracking, close-out)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and walk job sites
- Willingness to travel to job sites and take direction
- Must be able to read basic plans and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing stairs
