Pay Range: $66,560.00 to $89,120.64

About the Role: The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations, ensuring excellent member service, and achieving financial targets. Responsibilities include assisting with staff supervision, training and development, handling member inquiries and issues, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The Assistant Branch Manager also helps in managing branch performance, driving sales goals, and contributing to the branch's growth and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required but may not be all-inclusive. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.

Ensure branch operations comply with Credit Union policies and legal/regulatory requirements

Collaborate with the Branch Manager and Operations Supervisor (OS) to ensure branch security, including opening and closing procedures and quarterly testing of security equipment

Promote branch business development activities, expand the member base, and guide the team in cross-selling Credit Union services

Perform observations of team members' interaction with members, helping members enhance their financial goals

Assist the Branch Manager in leading and developing the team to thrive in a sales and service environment

Communicate and achieve established team and individual goals for the branch

Maintain proper cash controls; ensure all branch transactions are balanced daily

Oversee individual accountability for cash handling and assist MSRs in resolving balance discrepancies

Control and handle daily deposits in accordance with policies and procedures

Assist in developing, coaching, and guiding team members, providing leadership through effective objective setting and communication, including a minimum of monthly two-on-one sessions

Ensure high-quality work and efficiency in operations, assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks

Periodically audit MSRs cash and vault cash on the premises

Ensure current member accounts are maintained or expanded and consult members regarding their financial needs and services

Ensure members are informed of Credit Union services and policies

Coordinate branch operations with accounting, loan processing, and credit functions; manage expenses and pursue cost-saving measures

Assist the Branch Manager in completing monthly sales reports

Process loan requests from all channels and effectively comply with loan policies and procedures using Meridian Link

Efficiently complete onboarding activities for new members' accounts using Meridian

Collaborate with facilities to ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping of the building, grounds, work areas, desks, and equipment

Keep the Branch Manager informed of branch activities, progress toward objectives, and significant issues

Fill in for the Branch Manager as needed

Requirements:

Experience/Education Requirements:

College degree preferable or equivalent combined education and work experience of a minimum of two (2) years additional college coursework in business or finance preferred

At least four (4) years of related experience in a financial institution (Credit Union preferred)

Two (2) years of supervisory and management experience.

Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products and understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements

Familiarity with branch functions, policies, and procedures is required

Desirable certifications in the following areas:

IRA certified

NMLS

Ability to maintain a good working relationship and provide excellent customer service to all team members, members, and the general public and to use good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority

Must have a positive attitude and friendly service must be provided to both the membership and to all fellow team members at the Credit Union

Microsoft Office programs knowledgeable

Must maintain a professional image

Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred)
