The role involves working with mechanical and electro-mechanical design engineers to validate and enhance performance, structural integrity, and overall functionality of bowling products. Highly motivated self-starter, passionate about learning, attention to detail, and accuracy in his/her work. Works exceptionally well in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment. Ideally, possess mechanical aptitude outside of the workplace and a keen interest in mechanical and electromechanical systems. Above-average to good 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks, Inventor, or the like are required. Proficiency in modeling in a 3D CAD system and using FEA is required. Essentials Functions
- Develop test plans, test procedures, and test fixtures to validate product and component designs.
- Develop and build a highly accelerated life cycle and stress tests to identify product failure modes.
- Interact closely with the New Product Development (NPD) and Continuation engineering teams to understand loading characteristics, mechanical durability, and reliability requirements.
- Utilize fundamental mechanics of materials, properties, and computer-aided numerical methods to predict/monitor areas of structural concern during testing.
- Actively use measured test and field service data to close the gaps between FEA simulation and physical testing.
- Using instrumentation/data acquisition of lab and field data, achieve correlation of extrapolated product life estimates with real-life values.
- Collect, validate, and analyze test data to provide insight into the product performance.
- Complete necessary documentation to finalize the results of validation test programs.
- Observe systems on test and apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to perform failure analysis and determine the root cause of equipment failures.
- Help test, characterize, and develop new materials like composites.
- Other duties assigned by management.
