The Hotel de la Monnaie, a 53-all suite hotel located on iconic Esplanade Avenue at the entrance to famed Frenchmen Street and across the Street from the New Orleans Jazz Museum is searching for a Housekeeping Supervisor who is passionate about providing exceptional service and memorable experiences for our guests and owners and who has a true love of hospitality.
Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for both cleaning rooms and other supervisory functions as listed below in partnership with, or in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for planning, organizing and the development of all operations for the housekeeping department
- Planning, organizing and directing team members to ensure guest satisfaction
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct
- Create schedules on a weekly basis according to policy
- Verify daily staff levels meet the cleaning demand
- Oversee daily activities of housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of guest villas, club house offices and public areas, restrooms, restaurant, pool decks, poolside restrooms, tennis courts and outside areas
- Remain on property until all back-to-back and check-ins are cleaned and inspected for each day. Assist in completing them if necessary
- Review dispatches room attendant assignments for accuracy, favoritism and adherence to policy
- Review carpet cleaning log to ensure the cleaning of carpets occurs for all villas
- Review lost and found log for accuracy and verified against items in lost and found safe
- Check on productivity and quality of work of room attendants and housemen by arriving in their villas unannounced while cleaning and carpet cleanings are in progress
- Oversee VIP reservations by checking the condition, quality and staging of the villas prior to VIP's arrival
- Inspect villas of long term guest (30 days or more) weekly following the full clean service for odors, stains in carpet, damage to the villa
- Developing, implementing and control of department budget
- Maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory
- Have a training program in place to train new associates as well as a retraining program to ensure all housekeeping associates adapt to any new technique the resort wishes to adopt
- Recruit to maintain the department staff levels and see that all associates are trained according to the training program
- Ensure proper maintenance of all department equipment, tools and golf carts. Remove from service any equipment including golf carts that have issues preventing them from functioning according to manufactures specifications
- Ensure all associates follow daily instructions and the resorts policy and procedures at all times. Use the resorts coaching and counseling system to correct unwanted behavior
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 5 years experience in all aspects of housekeeping with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, pull and or push up to 25 lbs, move, stand, walk, traverse, crouch/stoop, kneel, repetitive hand/wrist motion, reach, bend, see, recognize, distinguish, convey information and converse with staff & guests with great consistency.

Compensation details: 15-17 Hourly Wage
